The Church of the Bible, and The Church of Today

When we look at the church in the Bible and the church today, there is a noticeable difference.  The church in the Bible was turning their world upside down, but for the most part, the churches of today are leaving their world pretty much undisturbed.  It may be that the bottom line of the whole matter is that those Christians we see in the Bible made everything in their lives secondary to their dedication to the gospel.  In the modern-day experience, it seems that other things have the place of priority in our lives.

Why Do Churches Have A Summer Slump?

Maybe you didn’t know they did, but they do; at least, many of them do.  It is perfectly understandable that people are going to take a vacation, go to family reunions, etc., but it seems like many people just don’t give their church attendance a very high place of priority in the summer.  I wish they would, because church needs them, and they need church.  Maybe the Lord had summer in mind when He inspired Hebrews 10:25.
